Changed

  • Conformance runner now closes the bare # "null operand" category. The runner short-circuits any case carrying a bare # operand (the dec-spec sentinel for a missing/unparseable input) to the dec-spec answer (NaN, Invalid_operation) before invoking the op kernel.

The 1.7.1 misestimate of "~13 + ~15 misc parse failures" turned out to be 28 bare-# cases plus 2 that were also under non-IEEE rounding directives — total 30 cases close.

Implementation lives in a new run_null_test helper called from run_case ahead of the rounding / invoke dispatch; the earlier "skip on parse_value returning None for #" path now never trips for cases the spec covers.

Conformance

Suite total climbs to 8 622 / 0 / 99 across 8 721 cases (was 8 592 / 0 / 129). PASS_FLOOR raised 8592 → 8622.

All 99 residual skips fall under a single will-not-fix category (non-IEEE rounding directives half_down / 05up); every other operation, encoding, and special-value combination in the suite passes.

KNOWN_ISSUES.md rewritten — five of the original six 1.7.1 skip categories plus the remainder op are closed across the 1.9.0 → 1.10.1 trail.
