@github-actions github-actions released this 15 Oct 23:32

Added

  • PatternDefinition.Validator: an optional check on the matched text (a check digit, a checksum); the pattern engine
    drops a match it rejects, in Match, IsMatch and FirstMatch alike.
  • Choose what the PII guards do per pattern: block, flag or ignore. InputGuardOptions.PIIExposureActions and
    OutputGuardOptions.PIILeakageActions map a pattern name ("IPAddress", "EmailAddress", "ResidentRegistrationNumber",
    … case-insensitive) to PIIAction.Block / Flag / Ignore; a pattern not named keeps its severity default. An unknown
    name throws ArgumentException when the guard is built. The guard constructors take the map as an optional last
    parameter. Use it to keep blocking email addresses after the fix below, or to stop flagging IP addresses in a
    deployment where they are ordinary words.

Changed

  • Korean jailbreak and prompt-leak phrasings are blocked. «
On an authored Korean set the
    guards now block 15 of 15 injections (0.22.1: 8) and 0 of 50 benign requests; requests about an app's settings, rules or
    filters («필터 조건을 모두 해제하고 …», «안전 지침 문서를 요약해줘», «개발자 모드에서 로그를 켜는 방법») still pass.

Fixed

  • Breaking: order, invoice, build and serial numbers are no longer blocked as national ID, passport or account
    numbers.
    With the default languages (en, ko, ja), any 9-digit number in input blocked as a US SSN
    («주문번호 123456789», «Invoice 482915736»), any 12-digit number — contiguous or grouped 1234-5678-9012 — as a Japanese
    My Number, and in output any 7-digit number as a Japanese bank account and any 8–9 digit number as a US passport;
    10 of 11 such sentences were blocked in a probe. Number-shaped patterns now need a form an unrelated number does not
    take by accident:
    • a verified check digit — card numbers (Luhn and issuer prefix; grouped 4111 1111 1111 1111 is now detected too),
      IBAN (mod 97; printed groups of four are now detected too), My Number, Korean business registration number;
    • the written form with separators — SSN and ITIN ddd-dd-dddd, EIN dd-ddddddd, Korean driver licence
      dd-dd-dddddd-dd;
    • or a label naming the number before it — SSN / social security, ITIN, EIN, passport, Korean account words
      (계좌 · 통장 · 입금 · 송금 · 이체), 운전면허, 口座, 運転免許 / 免許証.
      Unchanged: Korean resident registration numbers (newer ones carry no check digit; the date and gender digits are
      already checked). Migration: a bare 9-digit SSN or a bare account number without a label is no longer detected; if
      your inputs carry them that way, register a custom pattern (PatternDefinition.Validator checks the matched text).
      PIIAction.Block applies to what a pattern matches, so it cannot restore the old, looser match.
  • Breaking: a guard that passes a text no longer blocks it through BlockThreshold. The core compared every guard's
    score with the block threshold, but a guard that passes a text reports how sure it is of what it found, not how risky
    the text is. So with the standard preset (threshold 0.9) the PII exposure guard's «tracked, not refused» matches
    blocked the request: every IPv4 address and every four-part version number such as 5.0.5.6 (pattern confidence
    0.9), every email address (0.95), and IBAN, JWT and MAC addresses. Now only a guard that refused the text or asked for
    escalation blocks by score; a passed result can still flag the check (GuardDecision.Flagged). After an escalation,
    a remote guard that passes the text decides it: its score, and any passed local score, flag and do not block.
    Unchanged: credit cards, private keys, API keys and passwords in input still block; on output the PII leakage guard
    still blocks High and Critical PII (IBAN, JWT, keys), and now flags email, IP and MAC addresses instead of blocking.
    Migration: if you relied on an email or IP address in input (or email in output) being blocked, check
    GuardResult.Decision == GuardDecision.Flagged and its TriggeredGuards, or raise the matching guard's own verdict
    with a custom guard.
