Breaking — AddMemoryIndexer() runs the configuration rules at startup. The registered IConfigurationValidator
(ranges, consistency between settings) was registered but never called, so a value out of range surfaced later, if at
all. Now an error stops the host with an OptionsValidationException naming each setting
(MemoryIndexer:Storage:VectorDimensions: Vector dimensions must be positive (current: 0, expected: > 0)), and a
warning is logged. The defaults pass. Migration: a host that started with an out-of-range value now fails at start —
fix the value the message names, or register your own IConfigurationValidator before AddMemoryIndexer().
Added
AddMemoryIndexerObservability() exports the evaluation metrics. They were recorded on the MemoryIndexer.Evaluation
meter, which it did not subscribe. MemoryIndexerTelemetry.MeterNames lists every meter the packages record on (for a
host that wires OpenTelemetry itself), MemoryIndexerTelemetry.EvaluationMeterName the evaluation one.
Documentation
The guides under docs/ now compile against the current API, and are checked on every build. They showed .ValidateOnStart() on AddMemoryIndexer() (the rules now run at startup — above), Embedding.ApiKey (the key belongs to your IEmbeddingService), AddHealthCheckPublisher() (health results are
not metrics), graph and store calls without the user id, ArchiveStoreOptions (SemanticStoreOptions) and
configuration sections that do not bind.
