Ring Out 1.6.3
Another speed release: about 6% less CPU than 1.6.2 on every disc version, from three changes to the code the recompiler generates. One is how it handles memory access; the other two cover how it tracks the CPU's condition flags.
Measured over identical gameplay (16,000 frames of an arcade match), combined against 1.6.2:
- US disc: 6.1% less CPU
- Japanese disc: 6.3% less
- European disc: 5.6% less
- SC2 Plus: 5.7% less
Game behaviour is unchanged. Every disc produces frame-for-frame identical game state to 1.6.2 over the same inputs.
No new features.
You need to re-run setup. The gain is in the module setup builds on your machine. If you copy the new files over an old install, the old module is refused at start with a "CPU ABI mismatch" error instead of running. Unzip fresh and point setup at your disc as before.
Netplay needs both players on 1.6.3, as with every release.
