BrowserMCP 0.0.33 makes browser observations and actions easier for agents to compose.

  • Reuse observed element refs across frames in observe, find, read, act, and expect.
  • Verify target values, checked/selected states, visibility, enabled state, and text with actual evidence.
  • Pass returned continuation arguments, popup entries, and download results directly into follow-up calls.
  • Discover changed WebMCP catalogs during observation; fetch full schemas only when needed.
  • Standardize BrowserMCP runtime paths and simplify configuration.

Upgrade

Install @jackwener/browsermcp@0.0.33, update BrowserMCP Connector to 0.0.25, run browsermcp setup, and restart your MCP client. Native Messaging now uses com.browsermcp.host and local configuration lives in ~/.browsermcp. Previous OpenCLI directories and client entries are not migrated automatically.

Manual Chrome extension installation

Download browsermcp-extension-manual-install-0.0.25.zip, extract it, open chrome://extensions, enable Developer mode, and choose Load unpacked on the extracted folder. Disable the Chrome Web Store copy first if installed.
