KFX DeDRM v0.2.2

  • Added ARMHF and Legacy/non-HF kterm builds for compatibility across different Kindle firmware/device configurations.
  • Added a No-kterm build for users who already have a working kterm installation.
  • Added automatic kterm detection.
  • Added pre-launch validation requiring kterm to remain under /mnt/us/extensions for interactive use after testing confirmed that moving ARMHF kterm elsewhere can cause the on-screen keyboard to disappear.
  • Added kterm ABI compatibility detection before launch:
    • ARMHF expects /lib/ld-linux-armhf.so.3.
    • Legacy/non-HF expects /lib/ld-linux.so.3.
    • Incompatible kterm builds are detected before launch instead of leaving the user on a blank screen.
  • Added persistent KFX DeDRM - ERROR.txt recovery information for missing, misplaced, or incompatible kterm installations.
  • Reduced pre-launch error-message display time from 12 seconds to 5 seconds before returning to the Kindle Library.
  • Added documentation for kterm's hidden two-finger/dual-touch swipe menu, including Font Increase/Decrease, Reverse Colors, Toggle Keyboard, Reset Terminal, and Quit.
  • Added a redesigned Settings menu with separate submenus for:
    • Scan Folder
    • DeDRMed Books Output
    • Keyfile Output
    • kterm Information
  • Fresh installs now use the default paths automatically without requiring first-run configuration:
    • Scan folder: /mnt/us/documents
    • DeDRM output: /mnt/us/dedrm
    • Keyfile output: /mnt/us/dedrm/keyfile.txt
  • Added automatic Settings fallback when the configured scan folder does not exist, including when the default /mnt/us/documents folder is missing.
  • Added configurable recursive book scan roots, including:

  • Added direct passing of the configured scan root to scan, scantruncate, keyfile, and dedrm_all.

  • Fixed the CJK/Japanese title issue that produced malformed output during truncated scanning.
  • Added UTF-8-safe title truncation, preventing multibyte characters from being split while still shortening long titles.
  • Confirmed successful Japanese/CJK book DeDRM on-device.
  • Updated the preserved Satsuoni scanner source with Unicode-safe truncation and configurable scan-path support.
  • Changed the Scriptlet version display to use the project's VERSION file, preventing menu/release version mismatches.
  • Added a Credits page linking both the KFX DeDRM Scriptlet repository and Satsuoni's DeDRM Tools project.
  • Updated menu, Settings, Credits, and scan-result screenshots in the README.
