Rigby2D 0.2.2
Rigby2D 0.2.2: AutoRig, animation retargeting, Python scripting, a much bigger MCP server and faster renders.
Highlights
- Rigby AutoRig: import a layered PSD and get an editable rig in one step. Body parts are identified from layer names (or positions), joints are placed where parts meet, bending parts become weighted meshes (a single arm layer gets an elbow), and arms and legs get IK. File ▸ AutoRig artwork… · Guide
- Animation retargeting: reuse an animation on other characters. Bones are matched automatically by name or body part, movement is scaled to each character's size, and different rest poses can be compensated. File ▸ Retarget animations from another character…
- Python scripting and custom tools: write Python scripts against the open project and add your own tools to the new Scripts menu. Python 3 is built in (works offline); each run is one undo step and failures roll back. · Guide
- Log window: View ▸ Log (or the Log button in the status bar) collects messages, warnings and errors with tracebacks.
- MCP server: 34 tools (was 13): film output, poses and face controls, audio and lip-sync, renames, AutoRig, retargeting and
run_scriptfor Python. · Guide - Renders: MP4 audio is now AAC (plays everywhere); Merge into one video renders several animations into a single WebM or MP4; MP4 renders are about 2× faster and PNG sequences about 7× faster.
- Camera: framing can follow a
camerabone (Film workspace). - Fix: automatic mesh weights now pick the nearest bone for vertices far from every bone.

The editor needs WebView2, which is included in Windows 10 and 11. The Godot runtime (unchanged since 0.2.0) needs Godot 4.3 or newer; the prebuilt library is for Windows x64 (on Linux and macOS, build it from source). Godot guide
