tx v0.20 focuses on design docs, plans and tasks, with verification evidence and a local dashboard.

Workflow

  • Four document kinds: overview, PRD, design and plan.
  • Copy your coding agent's ordinary plan into specs/plan/, retain an adjacent .source symlink when useful, then link design -> plan -> tasks.
  • Four small guides: tx-tasks, tx-docs, tx-plan and verify-invariants.
  • Map invariants to enforcement code and meaningful assertions. Source references, executable results and human sign-off remain distinct.

Polish and reliability

  • Consistent command help, actionable JSON errors and canonical tx task commands.
  • Documents and Spec Health in the dashboard, linked hierarchy, inline task title editing, keyboard focus recovery and responsive layouts.
  • Atomic task creation, safe document versioning, strict request validation and validated bulk mutations.
  • Scoped invariant discovery and reliable native Vitest result imports, including parameterised and skipped cases.
  • Updated dependencies and verified standalone binaries for macOS and Linux, on arm64 and x64.

Upgrade

Back up .tx/ first. Replace tx add with tx task add and tx dep block with tx task dep block. Run tx skills sync to refresh tx-owned guides. Historical documents, migrations and recognised legacy stream data remain compatible.

Memory, pins, claims, messages, autonomy controls, agent execution, automated decomposition, Ralph and watchdog are retired. Labels and optional dashboard planning cycles remain.

The npm CLI and direct SQLite SDK need Bun. Standalone assets include their runtime. The dashboard runs from a source checkout. The HTTP SDK works with Node.
