📦 Version 0.2.0 – Pre-Release

This version introduces major foundational enhancements to ModCLI, laying the groundwork for dynamic, scalable, and externally-driven CLI behavior. It’s the beginning of dynamic CLI definitions and modular configurations.

Added

  • CommandSource abstraction to support custom command loaders.
  • JSON-based command loading via JsonFileSource.
  • Support for defining command name, help, aliases, and hidden status in external JSON files.
  • CLI configuration loader via CliConfig, supporting:
    • Theme selection (theme)
    • Argument strict mode (strict_args)
    • Custom CLI banners (banner)
  • Built-in support for hiding commands from the help menu using hidden: true.
  • Improved help output with contextual descriptions and simplified layout.

Completed Tasks

  • Add CommandSource type for loading from different origins (static, JSON, plugins, etc.)
  • Enable name/alias/description handling from JSON input
  • Support CLI configuration layouts via JSON/Frag
  • Support optional command hiding / privacy via field flag

Notes

  • External commands are loaded dynamically at runtime via JSON.
  • CliConfig support is currently passive; integration with the runtime theme or behavior is planned in a later version.
  • This pre-release is intended for developers building dynamic or externally extensible CLI tooling using ModCLI.
