Version 0.6.1 - 2025-12-07

Quick checkpoint release. Preserving current progress before the next round of major updates. If you're still on 0.5.x, upgrade now - this is way more stable.

Why This Release Exists

  • Backup Point: In case someone goes "full retard" and deletes half the codebase again
  • Progress Checkpoint: Current stable state before more aggressive refactoring
  • Help the Lost Souls: For anyone still running ancient 0.5.x versions
  • Version Sync: Starting to fix those version number mismatches (maybe)

What's Actually Working

Output System

  • Gradients are sexy and stable
  • Tables render without explosions
  • Progress bars that don't flicker
  • Colors that actually show up on Windows

Command System

  • Basic command registration works
  • Help text displays properly
  • Shell mode doesn't crash (usually)
  • Arguments get passed correctly

Core Stability

  • No more random panics
  • Memory leaks plugged
  • Thread safety improved
  • Actually compiles on all platforms

Minor Fixes

  • Fixed that thing where commands would sometimes just... not
  • Progress bars no longer eat 100% CPU
  • Shell history won't corrupt after 1000 entries
  • Unicode doesn't break everything anymore
  • Config loading is 73% less stupid

Still In Progress

Being honest about what's still cooking:

  • Async support (coming back soon™️) - maybe :)
  • Some examples might be lies

Quick Start

[dependencies]
mod-cli = "0.6.1"
use mod_cli::ModCli;

fn main() {
    let args: Vec<String> = std::env::args().skip(1).collect();
    let mut cli = ModCli::new();

    // Your commands here
    cli.run(args);  // It works!
}

PSA

If you find bugs, report them before Tyrone "fixes" them by deleting the entire module. We're making progress, just... carefully.
