What's Changed

  • SMB authentication now accepts arbitrary usernames as long as the password matches the configured shared Samba password. This preserves the existing root-backed file access model while improving client compatibility with Finder-style login flows and arbitrary entered usernames.
  • doctor and post-deploy SMB verification no longer append .local to IP-based TC_MDNS_HOST_LABEL values.
  • NetBSD4 startup now kills duplicate mdns-advertiser processes
