What to build

Give the user two clearly differentiated views of the same artwork settings: an idealized Artwork preview using intended colours and an authoritative Path preview showing the exact drawable centrelines.

Acceptance criteria

• Path preview is the default mode.
• Path preview displays the exact motif, outline, concentric, and hatch paths produced by preparation.
• Artwork preview uses intended colours and may simplify regions to communicate the planned visual result.
• Intended colours agree across Artwork preview, Path preview, and pen-pass planning.
• Cosmetic Artwork-preview fills and strokes never enter prepared or exported plot paths.
• Switching preview modes does not change prepared geometry or settings.
• Empty and partially invalid artwork displays actionable diagnostics in both modes.
