New Features

  • With the new Echos Keyboard, you can voice type into other apps using its built-in record button, with transcription processed entirely on your device.
  • Echos Keyboard has on-device autocorrect, a suggestion strip, and a personal dictionary that learns as you type. For English, its bundled language model uses the text before the cursor to help rank corrections.
  • Customize keyboard autocorrect, key sounds, and haptics in Advanced Settings. On iOS, you can also choose how long voice typing stays ready in the background.
  • You can see an ongoing voice session on your iOS Lock Screen and end it with one tap using a Live Activity.
  • Completely redesigned and improved UI.
  • Organize sessions into folders, with options to create, rename, and delete folders and move sessions between them.
  • Import supported audio files for on-device transcription, or import plain-text and Markdown files into a new or existing session.
  • Edit transcriptions in a dedicated editor, select all items in a session, and merge selected transcriptions into one.
  • Copy or share sessions and save them as Markdown files.
  • Customize transcription text with a choice of fonts, sizes, and bold styling.
  • Enable optional app locking with Face ID, fingerprint, or your device passcode.
  • Echos now work in landscape mode.
  • Long session and transcription lists now load in pages and gain a button to jump back to the top or bottom.
  • You can now change the transcription language and mode from the recording controls. The language selection screen in Settings also has search.
  • The speech engine now warms up in the background, so your first transcription starts sooner.
  • You can now delete a downloaded model even when it is selected, and Echos falls back to the bundled Whisper Tiny model.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where the app icon rendered with a white background on some Android launchers.
  • Fixed remaining Android 15 compatibility issues with deprecated status bar and navigation bar settings.
  • Fixed a flash in the recording controls when moving between the home and settings screens.
  • Fixed a rare error when keeping the screen awake while the app was being recreated on Android.
