Submission: The code I had when the assignment was due.
I plan to come back to this to flesh it out a bit more. Unfortunately, the assignment is due at a particular time; this is the state of my code at that time.
I have implemented Employee and Registry classes. The Employee class is fairly complete as far as I can tell except for a .Equals method that would make List<Employees> easier to query with Linq.
I had originally thought to add functionality to the Registry class to be able to remove as well as add employees. The logic for this turned out to be too difficult and out-of-scope to complete. (For reference: what do we do with duplicate names? Are employee ID numbers supposed to be known?) Otherwise, the Registry class can add employees and print a formatted registry.
Lastly, the ideal code would have a level of interactivity. Based on other sample projects, I planned to split this into three functions:
- A function to allow the user to add employees by asking for their name and salary;
- A function to display the current registry to the console; and
- A function to display a menu and ask for the user's choice.
The interactivity logic would then be driven by Main. While I have a good idea of how to make those three functions, I'm now out of time. Instead, I have an example of how the Registry class would be used by adding a few example employees and printing the registry.
