Release Notes: v0.5.2 — The Instructional Bridge

1. Accessibility & Screen Reader Integration

Intent: Provide a non-visual mental model of the geometric math.

  • Semantic Parallelism: Connected the Guidance Registry to ARIA landmarks. Screen readers now describe the geometric behavior (e.g., "Coordinate Torsion") the moment a drawer is focused.
  • Instructional ARIA Labels: Sliders and HUD elements now pull descriptive "intents" from the registry, explaining the visual outcome of the math to non-sighted users.
  • Keyboard Navigation: Ensured the new "About" link and HUD elements are fully reachable via tab-order, maintaining a keyboard-only workflow.
  • Baseline Alignment: Aligned header elements using flexbox baseline strategies to ensure consistent reading flow for high-contrast and zoomed-in views.

2. UI & Documentation Integration

Intent: Connect the interface directly to the technical documentation.

  • Adaptive Tooltip Timing: Tooltips show immediately for the first three hovers to introduce features, then switch to a 1-second delay to stay out of the way during active work.
  • Math Rendering: Integrated KaTeX to display formulas (like $\theta$ or $\pi$) in tooltips using standard mathematical notation.
  • Contextual Anchors: UI "About" links now point to specific sections within README.md for faster reference.

3. Formulas & Gallery

Intent: Provide reference material for manual formula editing.

  • Registry Source of Truth: Created a single JSON registry that powers the UI, the README tables, and ARIA descriptions simultaneously.
  • Copy-Paste Examples: Added formulas for Edge Sharpening, Surface Pulsing, and Frequency Modulation to the README Gallery.
  • Math Glossary: Listed all available functions (sin, cos, etc.) and constants (PI, E) supported by the Formula HUD.

4. Infrastructure & Stability

Intent: Improve system reliability and testing accuracy.

  • Registry Schema: Added a JSON Schema (Ajv) to validate the registry. This blocks newlines or markdown headers from breaking the README generator.
  • Safari Navigation Fix: Resolved "WebSocket suspension" errors in Safari by using a microtask-deferred reload when toggling feature flags.
  • Unified Coverage: Reached 86.15% statement coverage by merging Jest and Playwright test data.
  • Precision Mode: Holding Shift while dragging sliders reduces sensitivity by 10x for fine-tuning.
