Releases: jasnzhng/autograder-vscode
Release list
v0.1.3
Install / update: on the Visual Studio Marketplace. VS Code updates it automatically, or run:
code --install-extension jasnzhng.autograder-vscodeTo install from a file instead, download autograder-vscode.vsix below and use ⋯ → Install from VSIX… in the Extensions view.
Changes
- Expected vs. actual output. For tests graded by comparing your output with an expected output (like EECS 280's
.correctfiles), "Output & diff" shows autograder.io's diff: side by side when there's room, unified in the sidebar, with the changed part of each line highlighted and long matching stretches collapsed. "Show whitespace" makes spaces, tabs and line ends visible, and a missing final newline or\ris always marked. "Open in diff editor" compares the expected output with your real output in VS Code's diff editor. - Fixed: output wrongly marked "output hidden". Tests whose feedback shows expected and actual output, but not "show actual output", now show your output, and their failures appear in "Show failures in Problems".
- Fixed: a required file reported missing when it also matched a wildcard. When one file matched two expected patterns, it only counted toward the first. In EECS 370, for example,
simulator.calso matches*.[as,s,lc2k], so submitting stopped with "No file matching simulator.c". Like autograder.io, a file now counts toward every pattern it matches, and it's still uploaded only once.
v0.1.2
Install / update: now on the Visual Studio Marketplace. Search for "Autograder.io" in VS Code's Extensions view, or run:
code --install-extension jasnzhng.autograder-vscodeTo install from a file instead, download autograder-vscode.vsix below and use ⋯ → Install from VSIX… in the Extensions view.
Installed an earlier .vsix? Those builds use the old ID jasnzhng.autograder-io-vscode and won't update. Uninstall it, then install from the Marketplace. Your autograder.* settings carry over; you'll need to sign in again.
Changes
- Your token only goes back to the server that issued it. Before, a project's
.vscode/settings.jsoncould setautograder.baseUrland have VS Code send your stored token there as soon as the folder opened. Now the token is stored with its server, and when the setting points anywhere else you're simply signed out. Signing in to a server other than autograder.io asks first, and the URL must behttps://(plainhttp://only on localhost). Tokens saved by 0.1.x are treated as autograder.io's, so you stay signed in. - Student data only. The course picker no longer lists courses you're on staff for. Viewing failures in Problems now also checks that the submission is in your own group's list instead of fetching it by id, so every code path reads only your own submissions, even with a staff token.
- Pasting a multi-line
tarcommand from the spec works. VS Code's input box is single-line and dropped the line breaks, so\-continued commands reached the shell astar \ --exclude …and failed. Choosing "Paste the command" now fills the box from your clipboard with the lines already joined, and a command pasted into the box by hand is repaired too. - New extension icon.
Recommended: update now. If you opened projects from other people in 0.1.1, you can revoke your token on autograder.io (this also logs you out of the website), then sign in again.
v0.1.1
Install / update: download autograder-io-vscode.vsix below. In VS Code, open the Extensions view → ⋯ → Install from VSIX…, or run:
code --install-extension ~/Downloads/autograder-io-vscode.vsixChanges
- Sign-in uses the
agtokendownload. autograder.io's token page downloads a file instead of displaying the token. The extension now watches your Downloads folder for it and imports it automatically. It also reuses~/.agtokenif you have one, lets you choose the file or paste the token instead, and afterwards offers to delete the downloaded copy or move it to~/.agtoken. - Progress bars for submissions below full marks now use the theme's accent color; full marks stay green.
agtokenfiles are now excluded from git and from the packaged extension.
v0.1.0
First release.
Install: download autograder-io-vscode.vsix below, then in VS Code open the Extensions view → ⋯ → Install from VSIX…, or run:
code --install-extension ~/Downloads/autograder-io-vscode.vsixFeatures
- Autograder sidebar in the activity bar, with a pop-out editor view: your submissions with scores, expandable test results, and output loaded on demand.
- Clickable file references in test output. Bundled-JS stack frames are source-mapped using the map from the tarball you submitted.
- "Show failures in Problems": file references from failing tests' output become red squiggles in your code.
- Build & Open in Browser (the default; nothing is uploaded from VS Code) or Submit directly.
- First-run setup from the files autograder.io expects. For tarballs, paste the spec's
tarcommand or pick the contents. - A git snapshot for every build, with exact links to website uploads; compare any submission with your current code or check it out as a branch.
