CODEZY 2.6.0 — the local-first AI coding assistant now updates itself.

Install: download CODEZY-Setup-2.6.0.exe, run it, next → next. It
installs over your existing version and keeps every setting, chat and folder.

What's new in 2.6.0

  • It updates itself — a quiet pill in the top bar appears when GitHub is
ahead: one click streams the installer with a live percentage, then restarts
and installs in place. No second updater app, no second install, no
window stealing focus. The pill can be dismissed per version; turn the
launch check off in Settings → about (/update checks on demand).
  • The cowork tree never loses folders again — a file cap used to silently
drop every folder behind it. Folders are always walked now, only file rows
are capped, and each cut is marked (… 12 more files, … deeper folders are hidden). The ignored chip now shows dist, venv, .vscode while
    still hiding .git and node_modules.
  • Git at a glance — M / A / D / ? letter badges on every file, one
git status per root with a 2.5 s timeout; a git chip toggles them.
  • Edit history — /history lists every backup taken before an edit,
newest first. Restoring snapshots the current files first (double-press is
safe), refuses anything outside the linked folders, never touches binaries.
  • Quick follow-ups — Continue · Explain · Review it · Add tests chips
under the last reply (never while it's still streaming).
  • Settings you can carry — export/import settings as .json (folders
deliberately excluded), send a test notification, and custom instructions
now sit in their own ## Instructions from you block above everything else.
  • 948 regression checks across 21 batches, all green.

The installer isn't code-signed yet, so SmartScreen warns on first run:
click More info → Run anyway. (A signing certificate removes this
permanently.)

Requirements: Windows 10/11 x64 · local Ollama or a cloud key · no account.
