SteamShell includes built-in tooling to answer: “why did it focus that?” / “why didn’t it?”

Live Log Viewer

Open from the Control Panel:

Newest entries first
Quick actions like open/copy/clear/refresh (depending on build)

Logging modes

Basic operation log (recommended)
More verbose scoring logs (for tuning)
Optional “log skipped candidates” to see why something didn’t activate

One-shot hotkeys

Ctrl+Alt+Shift+R: reload settings
Ctrl+Alt+Shift+G: run Game Foreground Assist immediately (tests detection)
Ctrl+Alt+Shift+P: open Control Panel
Ctrl+Alt+Shift+E: emergency desktop restore / exit path

Troubleshooting loop

Turn logging on temporarily
Reproduce once
Check for exclusions/cooldowns/hands-off/winner reason
Adjust one setting → reload → test again

No support is provided for SteamShell. Use at your own risk — it replaces the Windows shell. Ctrl+Alt+Shift+E is the emergency restore.
