Why is the first time running significantly slower

I need to do some profiling to figure out why the first time running the code is so much slower

It does not appear to be that the first run is egregiously high, I looked into the profiler

I think it is heavily dependent on what GPU activities are going on currently. I think the more GPU activity the better. When I turned up my refresh rate the performance increased
