content_fallback bytes permanently retained in heap (regression since v0.6.2): Files whose mmap failed fell back to a OnceLock<Vec<u8>> cache, which is write-once — once populated, the bytes could never be freed. Replaced with Mutex<Option<Vec<u8>>> so the cached bytes are evictable. Resolves the memory-growth issue tracked in v0.6.4 for Linux deployments approaching the mmap limit.
Improved
Persist symbol caches and import graph in saved index: When saving the trigram index to disk, the per-file symbol caches and resolved dependency edges are now also persisted. On the next startup, symbols and imports are restored directly from the index file instead of being re-extracted from file contents, eliminating the rebuild_symbols_and_dependencies pass for unchanged files and significantly reducing startup latency for large codebases.
Symbols are only re-extracted for files whose mtime has changed (stale files), which are queued for re-indexing as before.
Persisted indexes from older versions (format < 3) are automatically rebuilt once and saved in the new format.
