CGTimer 3.0 is a major release. The app has been rewritten around a flexible layout system, gains a custom preferences window, and adds OSC and HyperDeck integration for production environments.

New layout system

• Build your dashboard from any number of widgets, split panels horizontally or vertically, and resize panels by dragging dividers
• Drag widgets between slots, or drag from the palette to insert new ones
• Pick widget kind on insert and reconfigure any widget inline (label, colors, options)
• Auto-hide menu bar while editing; confirm before deleting widgets
• Press F to toggle fullscreen

New & improved widgets

• Time-of-day countdown: counts down to a wall-clock time (replaces the old production clock)
• Timezone clocks: show the current time in any city/zone, with themed previews in preferences
• HyperDeck status: live timecode and recording status for connected Blackmagic HyperDeck recorders
• Unified timer rendering across remaining/elapsed/loop widgets, with bumped title size and consistent styling
• Loop icon now spins while a loop is active
• All clocks sync to a single wall-clock-aligned tick (no more drift between widgets)

OSC control

• Built-in OSC server lets external consoles drive timer commands (start/stop/reset/etc.)
• Switch layouts remotely over OSC

HyperDeck recorder support

• Connect to Blackmagic HyperDeck recorders, monitor status, and display deck timecode in widgets
• Configure recorders from the new Recorders preferences tab

Preferences rewrite

• Open with Cmd/Ctrl + ,
• New tabs: Application, Colors, Timezones, Recorders, Server
• Inline toggles in the Production tab; reformatted Colors tab; deep-linkable Timezones with themed time preview

Multi-display

• Hardened display matching so windows return to the correct monitor across reboots and ID resets
• Better handling of fullscreen and window positioning when displays change

Platform & packaging

• New Windows portable build (cgtimer-3.0.0.exe) alongside the standard installer
• macOS arm64 .dmg and .zip
• Linux .AppImage and .deb
• Auto-update metadata published for all platforms

Under the hood

• Migrated from Webpack/Forge to Vite + electron-builder for faster builds and a smaller config surface
• Updated to Electron 41, React 19, and Fluent UI v9
