Add a new Term class with some helper functions for using ANSI/xterm escape sequences.

As the header comment notes, this became necessary for us because ncurses is no longer available on all the platforms where we need it. It isn't necessarily the best solution, as it uses ANSI/xterm escape sequences directly instead of properly using terminfo.

Tested mainly with the macOS Terminal.app.
