New
- Level horizon (
decouplePitch, on by default). The view follows only the game camera's heading, not its pitch or roll, so the world no longer tilts as you climb and dive; your head does all the looking up and down. Much more comfortable. For the old behavior, adddecouplePitch=0under[xr]invrmod.ini. - Window-size repair. If the game's VR settings file (
vrmod_Flower.cfg/vrmod_Journey.cfg) ends up fullscreen or not square, the mod fixes it on start. This caused a wrong camera angle, height and scale and a cut-off menu, typically when the game had never been started without the mod. A non-square frame is now also logged as a warning invrmod.log. - Journey (Steam) support, alpha. Full VR gameplay with head tracking; title, menus and cutscenes on a big screen in front of you; pause and idle in VR. See the README for controls, settings and known issues.
If your view was wrong before
Update the DLL and delete vrmod.ini from the game folder; the mod recreates it with the default settings on the next start.
Journey known issues (alpha)
- Some end-of-chapter visions and story scenes are not detected as cutscenes and play in VR.
- Some distant lights and flames flicker differently in each eye.
- Launch with the headset already in SteamVR (Steam Frame: Steam Link VR connected); otherwise Journey waits on a black screen.
The mod is built and tested with SteamVR as the OpenXR runtime. Tested with a Steam Frame (Steam Link) and PSVR2 (PC adapter), RTX 5090.
