Added
- New "Read to me" setting (Settings -> Daymark -> Data & privacy, off by default). When it's on and your AI provider can turn text into speech, a post in the app's full post view shows a Listen button at the top. The first tap makes an audio version, and Daymark saves it so the post is only sent to your provider once. (#522)
- The full post view now has Previous and Next buttons at the top. They move to the post above or below on the Timeline, Search results, or On this day list you opened it from, without going back to the list first. At the last post loaded so far, Next loads the next batch of posts, so you can keep reading to the end of the list. Back then returns to the list at the last post you read. (#521)
- You can now get push notifications on your phone or computer when someone comments on one of your Marks. Turn them on per device on the Me screen in the app. On iPhone and iPad, add Daymark to your Home Screen first. (#525)
- Star a site you follow in Explore to make it a favorite. Daymark checks favorites every hour, and with push notifications on, sends one when a favorite site publishes. Tapping it opens the new post. (#526)
- Push notifications now also tell you when you gain a follower: another Daymark or IndieWeb site, someone on the fediverse (through the ActivityPub plugin, which the Friends plugin also uses), or a Jetpack email or WordPress.com subscriber. Following a site now tells that site, which you can turn off in Settings -> Daymark -> General. (#527)
- A new setting shows the Timeline, Search, and Explore as a compact list: each post becomes one row with its title and a small thumbnail, so more posts fit on the screen. It's off by default; turn it on under Settings -> Daymark -> General. (#520)
- A new setting in Settings -> Daymark -> General shows the number of unread notifications on Daymark's app icon once the app is installed. It is off by default. (#519)
- A new Reading setting in Settings -> Daymark -> General shows the Daymark app's text in the Bionic Reading font. It is off by default. Daymark can't include the font, so it uses a Bionic Reading family from the site's Font Library, a web font file you host, or a copy installed on the reader's device. (#533)
Changed
- The "Try Daymark" Playground demo now also follows xkcd, so its Timeline shows comic image posts next to the sample blogs. (#517)
Fixed
- The Parse This card on Settings -> Daymark -> Connectors now links to Parse This on GitHub, where it's published, and no longer shows an Install button that couldn't work. Parse This isn't in the WordPress.org plugin directory. The readme's Parse This answer says so too. (#516)
- More of Daymark now appears in your language once translations for it exist on translate.wordpress.org: the Featured Content control in the block editor, the offline version of the app, weather labels, and the fallback suggestions shown when an AI provider can't answer. Dates in the app now use WordPress's own translated month and day names. (#523)
- After a Daymark update, the app saved to your home screen now runs the new version the first time you open it. Before, it kept running the old version for one more launch, and on iPhone that could last until the phone fully closed the app. (#518)
Developer
bin/check-i18n.shchecks every translatable string the way wordpress.org extracts them, and CI now runs it. (#523)
