This only changes the sideload APK from GitHub Releases. The store and F-Droid builds carry no new code and no new permission.

Changed

  • An in-app update now ends on Android's "App updated — Done / Open" screen. Until now, confirming an update from inside Markleaf closed the app the moment the new version was installed, and nothing came back: you had to find the icon again to reopen it. Markleaf now hands the verified APK to Android's own package installer the same way a downloaded APK is opened, so the installer stays on screen through the install and finishes with Open, which starts the new version. Nothing else changes — the download is still checked against the release's SHA-256 before the installer sees it, and only your tap on Android's own screen installs anything. The screen's wording and extra warnings (Play Protect, or a manufacturer's "unknown source" prompt) are the system's, and vary by device. One limit: the update to this version is still carried out by the previous version's code, so it closes the app the old way — Open appears from the next update on.
