The Problem

Currently, jellyfin-web requires a full logout/login cycle to switch users. On shared living room TVs or tablets, this creates significant friction. Users often resort to leaving a single account logged in permanently, which messes up watch history and is a non-starter for individuals using plugins to manage watch lists.

Users on the feature request page have requested this for various smart TV clients of Jellyfin. Implementing profile switching on jellyfin-web would cover a lot of the Smart TV users and users with Home Theater PCs.

This is an annoying issue on our LG WebOS TV. I believe it also affects the Xbox One as well. It makes it so that we can't easily switch profiles when my wife and I are trying to watch something on TV.
