Sentinel CCTV 0.1.0

First public release of Sentinel CCTV, a local-first video recorder for RTSP cameras. The project is in early development: read PROJECT_STATUS.md before relying on it.

What's included

• Continuous RTSP recording with video stream copy — no transcoding and no GPU — through a shared go2rtc relay, so each camera holds a single connection.
• Motion detection with OpenCV, ignore zones, event snapshots and a searchable timeline with playback.
• Storage monitoring, retention policies and protected saved clips.
• A web interface with local administrator accounts, scoped API tokens and a restricted footage console.
• ONVIF discovery and PTZ controls on supported cameras, and a privacy mode.
• Home Assistant integration, now part of this repository under custom_components/sentinel. Install it through HACS as a custom repository. It needs a running Sentinel server.

Installing

• Server: build from source with Docker Compose, or on Proxmox. See Installation.
• Home Assistant: see the Home Assistant guide.

Known limitations

• Only the continuous and off recording modes are implemented; motion-triggered and scheduled recording are not available yet.
• The Home Assistant camera entity provides snapshots. Live video is available in the embedded Sentinel dashboard.
