Installation
Download the provided NibSimulator.glyphsReporter.zip below. Unzip, then double-click the NibSimulator.glyphsReporter file to install it into Glyphs.
Usage
You can either draw your guide path in the background of the main layer, or in a separate layer called nib. Any path in it will be used as the guide for the nib to trace.
Activate the preview via View – Show Nib Simulator, then access the settings window through the context menu Nib Settings...
Select the desired guide layer through the Nib Settings dialog.
Changes since v1.1.0
- Only refresh if the layer is actually different
- Also draw the nib trace when in the background layer
- Don't draw the nib trace in preview mode
Known issues
- The "Ellipse" nib is currently broken, but you can use the Superellipse nib with a superness setting of 2.0 instead.
- When tracing an outline, any existing outlines, anchors, and components in the current layer are deleted.
- Only Python 3.10, 3.11, and 3.12 are supported at the moment.
