Using a Skill

Use this workflow when you have selected one bounded method and need to apply it with traceable evidence.

Before you start

• Confirm the skill is canonical and its references resolve.
• Identify the intended output and the decision it supports.
• Record units, assumptions, source dates, and missing inputs.
• Check whether Canadian jurisdiction or sector requirements add constraints.
• Identify the qualified person who must review the result.

Work the method

Follow the skill's inputs, sequence, calculations, and output contract. Keep source material separate from execution authority. For example, the takt-time method uses available production time divided by required output. With 450 available minutes and 300 required units:

450 / 300 = 1.5 minutes per unit

Record the inputs and units with the result so another reviewer can reproduce it.

When evidence is incomplete

Do not silently fill gaps. Mark the missing or stale evidence, state what cannot be concluded, and route the open question to the appropriate qualified reviewer.

• Skill and version identified
• Inputs, units, assumptions, and sources recorded
• Calculations or decisions are reproducible
• Missing evidence and uncertainty are explicit
• Jurisdiction and sector overlays checked
• Qualified review owner identified
• Output stored with the project record
