v0.0.0-alpha — Initial Alpha Release

Strava for coders. Codava tracks your active coding time right inside VS Code — per language, per project, per file.

What's included

  • Automatic time tracking — hooks into editor events (onDidChangeTextDocument, onDidChangeActiveTextEditor, onDidSaveTextDocument, onDidChangeWindowState) to detect real activity
  • Idle & focus awareness — time is only counted when the VS Code window is focused and you've been active within the last 2 minutes
  • 30-second sampling — conservative tick-based accounting to avoid inflating numbers
  • Breakdowns by language, project, and file — see exactly where your time went
  • Status bar widget — today's total always visible in the bottom-right corner
  • Today's stats panel — Codava: Show Today's Stats command opens a webview with language/project/file breakdown
  • All-time stats panel — Codava: Show All-Time Stats command shows your full history

Commands
