Disabling Icons

Hey there,

I want to disable all icons. i couldnt find a config for this.
i find them distracting and honestly ugly.

I'd be very happy about (useful) awnsers.

Personally I like to disable only the file icons but keep other icons (e.g. branch and commit). You can do that with

gui:
  showFileIcons: false

I don't see any icons here, what are you talking about? If you mean the blue circles in the Commits panel, that's the commit graph. If you don't want to see that, you can turn it off with

git:
  log:
    showGraph: never

And you are running a really old version of lazygit, do yourself a favour and update to the current one (0.62.2 at this time).

right, that and the arrow next to the branch name. or is it possible to make it use just ascii characters instead?

That arrow tells you that your local branch is 7 commits ahead of its upstream branch. This is essential information, you can't hide it. I also don't understand what's wrong with the arrow.

If your branch had diverged from its upstream, you'd see something like ↓4↑7.

well, i guess i'll have to live with it. it's just that i dont like unicode characters. questions awnsered :)
