JetClock Logbook

A new way to explore the aircraft your JetClock has detected. The Logbook records every detection your clock makes, building a personal aviation spotting history that you can browse, sort and analyse at app.jetclock.io.

Aircraft are only logged when your clock is on (and not sleeping) and when they meet your filter criteria. By default all clocks have been recording data since the end of March, so when you open your Logbook for the first time you will have around a month of data to explore.

Time range filters

Browse your detections across preset or custom time periods. Some ranges exclude today and yesterday because rarity scores are calculated 48 hours after detection, ensuring all aircraft in your results have accurate ratings.

Key metrics

  • Unique Aircraft - Number of distinct aircraft detected (counted once each)
  • Total Detections - Total number of times any aircraft was detected
  • Your Sightings (range) - Times you have detected an aircraft in the selected period
  • Your Sightings (all time) - Total times you have ever detected a specific aircraft
  • Your First Sighting - Earliest date your clock detected the aircraft
  • Routes - Unique origin to destination pairs the aircraft has flown

Sorting

  • Rarest First - Orders by rarity score
  • Most Recent - Latest detections first
  • Most Frequent - Aircraft you have seen most often

Visualisations

  • Activity Timeline - Detection counts over time to spot peak periods and patterns
  • Route Map - Interactive globe showing origin and destination airports, with line thickness indicating route frequency
  • Aircraft Types - Breakdown of aircraft types detected with photos of your most common visitors

Sharing

Tap the share icon on any aircraft card to create an image with the aircraft details, photo, registration and rarity score.

Rarity Index

Every aircraft detected is now scored on a 0 to 100 rarity scale. Higher scores mean rarer aircraft. Scores are calculated daily using detection data from across the entire JetClock fleet, reflecting both aircraft type rarity and how often that specific airframe is seen.

Rarity scores are dynamic and update daily based on global detection patterns, so an aircraft might become more or less rare as more JetClocks detect it.

Logbook clock slots

New slots that bring Logbook data directly to your JetClock display:

  • Jets This Hour - Number of jets detected in the current hour
  • Jets Today - Number of jets detected today

More logbook slots are planned for future releases.

Notes

Privacy and data

The Logbook has been built around three principles:

  • Aircraft history data is available only to the owner of the clock that recorded it
  • Recording can be stopped and started whenever you choose
  • History data will be deleted within 7 days of a request

To disable the feature and delete the data associated with your clock, toggle the Logbook "off" in your apps and email data@or-innovation.com with your clock ID (available in Settings -> View clock information).

Data handling

Current hour data is live from your JetClock device. Historical data is aggregated hourly for efficiency, then compressed daily after 48 hours. Statistics are specific to your location and detection range.

Missing route data

Some aircraft may show no route information due to private flights without public flight plans, military or government aircraft, incomplete data transmission, or local training flights without filed routes.
