This is the second unified Avalonia preview and the first combined Windows/macOS preview that ships the Rust FFmpeg native pipeline in both platform packages.

Downloads

  • SHA256 sidecars are attached for both ZIPs.

Install

Windows: extract the ZIP and run FramePlayer.Avalonia.exe from the extracted folder.

macOS: extract the ZIP, move Frame Player.app where you want it, and open it normally. This build is Developer ID signed, notarized, stapled, and accepted by Gatekeeper after clean extraction.

What To Review

  • H.264/AAC playback start, pause, seek, and resume behavior.
  • Two-pane compare playback from the master transport, especially after play plus seek/scrub/move interactions.
  • Rust-backed index, decode window, and BGRA conversion behavior under real media.
  • Package/runtime integrity on clean machines.

Rust Pipeline Controls

The preview ships the native Rust library as frameplayer_ffmpeg_probe.dll on Windows and libframeplayer_ffmpeg_probe.dylib on macOS. The normal preview defaults can use the automatic native path, and testers can force Rust with:

FRAMEPLAYER_FFMPEG_INDEX_BUILDER=rust
FRAMEPLAYER_FFMPEG_DECODE_CORE=rust
FRAMEPLAYER_FFMPEG_FRAME_CONVERTER=rust

Validation

  • Release target: bdd9829e08fad1deed94b687405494a14e84e90c
  • PR #71 package cleanup checks passed on GitHub: Windows CI, macOS Avalonia, SonarQube, CodeQL, dependency submission, and automatic dependency submission.
  • Windows ZIP was rebuilt with the Rust DLL and pinned FFmpeg runtime files, then validated by SHA256 and package inventory on macOS. It was not executed on Windows from this Mac host.
  • macOS ZIP was Developer ID signed, submitted to Apple notary service, accepted, stapled, re-zipped, extracted, and accepted by Gatekeeper.
