Permissions finally explain themselves

• When a macOS permission blocks a feature, briffy now opens a guide page naming the one permission missing — Screen Recording, Microphone, or Accessibility — with a button that lands on that exact System Settings pane and a button to restart briffy afterward. Before, the only signal was a nine-second line on the paperclip, which is designed never to appear in a screenshot; people pressed the screenshot key for days thinking briffy was broken.
• It spells out the trap that cost the most time: after an update, the Screen Recording toggle can look on while the grant no longer applies. The page says: turn it off and on again, then restart.
• Screenshots no longer silently save a wallpaper. Without Screen Recording, macOS returns an image with every window wiped out; briffy used to file that as a record. Now it refuses to capture and shows the guide instead.
• Accessibility is checked for the first time. Reading a window's own text, window titles, and long shots depend on it; when it's missing you're told, at most once an hour, instead of getting silently worse OCR.

The paperclip

• It no longer appears over full-screen apps. It also no longer follows you across desktops — the same flag did both, and a clean full-screen view won.

Updates

• briffy now checks for new versions (Settings › Updates, on by default) and tells you one exists with its size. It never downloads on its own — you decide.

Saving web pages (extension 0.1.3)

• Bookmarking a page saves the whole page: the full text with comments — a 1,723-comment thread went from 104 characters captured to 456,827 — and the page's images and video as files rather than links.
• Comments are collected on X, Reddit, Xiaohongshu, Zhihu and Bilibili too; the site-specific path used to skip them entirely.

Asking from Claude Code, Codex, or any MCP client

• MCP search now uses the same retrieval as the app. Ask in plain words — "the start and end addresses" finds the record with the postcode even though it never contains the word "address". (The five kinds — clipboard / screenshots / saved / files / recordings — were already there in 1.0.1; this release makes the search itself as good.)

截图不会再给你一张壁纸。 没给「屏幕录制」权限时，macOS 的截屏接口不报错，它返回一张只有壁纸、所有窗口都被抹掉的图——按下快捷键看着就像退到了桌面。现在两条截图路径都先问一次权限：缺了就不拍，直接打开系统设置那一页，并说清楚要勾的那一项叫什么、以及必须完全退出再打开才生效。

浏览器扩展的状态灯不再说谎。 之前面板上写着「已连接」，而应用里那个图标是空心的「未连接」——扩展的心跳是 Service Worker 发的 GET，那种请求不带 Origin，于是从来没被算作报到。

从剪贴板来的图片不再跑到「录音」下面。 一条新记录到达时只问了日期就插进当前视图，没问你正在看哪一类。

换工作区文件夹时，东西会真的搬过去。 以前只改了指针，文件还留在原处。现在会搬，而且原来那一份不删。

「问」的历史排序改成全序，修掉一个大约每六次出现一次的顺序错乱。

补的

四处密钥之前没被盖住。 这些内容在发给 AI 服务之前会被替换掉，这一版补上：

• Stripe 的私密键 sk_live_ / sk_test_——之前表里只有 pk_ / rk_，正好把可以公开的那个盖住了、该藏的那个漏了（sk- 那条规则写的是连字符，而 Stripe 用下划线）
• Authorization: Bearer …
• 连接串里的密码：postgres://user:pass@host 只盖 pass 那一段，协议、用户名、主机都留着——盖掉整条，模型就只知道「这儿本来有个网址」了
• PRIVATE_KEY= / ACCESS_KEY= / MY_KEY= 这类写法——之前只认 api_key

新的

接上了自动更新，但它不替你做决定。

• 查到新版本只是说一声，下不下载你点，按钮上写着这一版有多大。这个应用 516 MB，在别人的网上替他下载不合适
• 下完不等于换上：Squirrel 把新版放在一边，重启后生效
• 查不到（断网、GitHub 抽风、还没发过版）不会弹东西吓你——安静记下，设置页里看得到。只有你自己点「检查更新」时才会把失败说出来
• 设置里有开关

这一版本身还收不到自动更新——更新器是这一版才装进去的。装了 1.0.0 的人仍然要手动下载一次；从 1.0.1 起，下一版才会来敲门。

MCP 现在也认得那五种纸（录音 / 截图 / 随手记 / 收藏 / 剪贴板），判据和应用里用的是同一份。
