• Import history from another clipboard manager: Settings › Storage › Import from another app. Paste the history list you copied from your old app, or import a file it exported — no extra permission needed. Each item runs through the same classifier as a fresh copy (links, colors, code, etc.), so you can switch over and remove the old app.

Fixed

• The installer DMG now shows an arrow from Clipivo to Applications and keeps both icons in place, instead of two icons scattered wherever Finder last remembered its window.

Update

Use Check for Updates… in the menu bar menu, or Check Now in Settings › General. Or: quit Clipivo, download Clipivo-0.9.5.dmg, and drag Clipivo onto Applications to replace the old copy. Your history, settings and Accessibility permission are kept.

New install: open the DMG, drag Clipivo to Applications, then go to System Settings › Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway on first launch (this beta isn't notarized yet).

Requirements: macOS 14 or later, Apple Silicon or Intel.

• Jump to the newest clip: a Latest button appears in the panel once you've scrolled away from the top of your history. (⌘↑ in the list layout, ⌘← in the shelf layout do the same thing — these shortcuts already existed, they just weren't shown anywhere.)
• Sensitive-content reviews no longer pile up: copy several things that look like secrets in a row and they now collapse into one row — "N items awaiting review" — with Discard All and a Review / Hide toggle, instead of stacking banner after banner.

Fixed

• Bigger, steadier buttons on that review banner, so clicks land reliably.

• Click selects, double-click pastes. Double-click a clip, or press Return, to paste it into the app you were using. It also becomes your latest clipboard item. Hold ⇧ to paste as plain text, or ⌥ to copy only.
• Prefer single-click paste? Turn it on in Settings › Clipboard.

Fixed

• Double-clicking an image clip copied it but didn't paste it into the text box.

• Double-clicking a clip, especially an image, copied it but didn't paste it into the text box. With single-click paste on, the second click is now ignored, and only one paste runs at a time.

• Check for updates: use Check for Updates… in the menu bar menu, or Check Now in Settings › General. You can also turn on a daily automatic check there. It's off by default; when it finds a new version, "Update Available" appears in the menu.
• The update check only asks GitHub for Clipivo's public release list. It sends no clipboard data, identifiers or cookies, and never downloads or installs anything itself.

Fixed

• The disk image now opens without a warning; only the app needs Open Anyway on first launch.
• Build warnings with older Xcode versions.

Install or update

1. Download Clipivo-0.9.1.dmg, open it, and drag Clipivo onto Applications. If you're updating, quit Clipivo first and replace the old copy. Your history and settings are kept.
2. First install only: macOS blocks the first launch because this beta isn't notarized. Go to System Settings › Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway.
3. Allow Accessibility when asked. Updates signed with the same "Clipivo Beta" certificate keep this permission.

Clipivo 0.9.0 Beta: the first public beta. Clipivo is usable every day, but it's still being hardened. Expect rough edges, and please report them.

What's in it

• Unlimited, searchable clipboard history stored locally on your Mac
• Card shelf and floating list layouts: click or press Return to paste into the app you were using
• Text, rich text, images, screenshots, PDFs, files, links, colors and code, with previews
• Search inside screenshots, with on-device text recognition (Apple Vision)
• Spaces, pins, titles and tags
• Ignored apps, password-manager awareness, sensitive-content detection, encrypted private clips and an optional Touch ID lock
• Export and import, plus automatic local backups
• Menu bar app with a customizable global shortcut (default ⇧⌘V)

Install

1. Download Clipivo-0.9.0.dmg, open it, and drag Clipivo onto Applications. (Or download the .zip and unzip it.)
2. Open it. This beta isn't notarized by Apple yet, so macOS will block the first launch. Go to System Settings › Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway.
3. Allow Accessibility when asked, so Clipivo can paste for you.
4. Press ⇧⌘V.

Known limitations

• Not notarized: the first launch needs Open Anyway.
• Signed with a self-signed "Clipivo Beta" certificate: future beta updates keep your Accessibility permission.
• If you use private clips, macOS may ask once to let Clipivo use its Keychain key.
