vMLX 1.5.45

Highlights:

  • MCP config auto-discovery now loads mcp.json / mcp.yaml from the working directory or user config paths without a launch flag, and MCP policy flows through sessions and gateway routes.
  • Built-in coding tools and MCP tools can chain across multi-round chats with structured tool_calls, parser cleanup, and a text-chat watchdog that clears stuck Generating tool call states.
  • Omitted max_tokens now resolves to model-owned or bounded defaults instead of the old hidden 32768 fallback.
  • Qwen3.6 native MTP, JANG/JANGTQ group-size detection, DSV4 cache policy, and TurboQuant/L2/paged cache telemetry have stricter release gates.
  • The in-app What's New notice is localized in English, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese with MCP, MTP, cache, and updater safety notes.

Verification:

  • Signed and notarized arm64 DMG passed strict codesign and Gatekeeper assessment as Notarized Developer ID.
  • Packaged app release gate passed version, bundled imports, bundled source/content hash, app engine path, panel request/type tests, TypeScript typecheck, pycache cleanup, codesign, spctl, and GUI launch.
  • Focused backend release-blocker suite passed MCP policy, tool formatting, DSV4 contracts, paged cache, cross-matrix audit, release-gate, and engine-audit tests.
  • Focused panel suite passed update checker, settings flow, DSV4 env, i18n consistency, tool auto-continue, tool status responsiveness, chat UI, and reasoning display tests.
  • The final DMG payload was mounted and verified to contain the fresh MCP/MTP/latest.json notice text, version 1.5.45, and a stapled Developer ID app.

Known follow-ups:

  • DSV4 Flash long/full-code exact-output remains conservative: short API/tool/cache gates pass, but long JavaScript identifier gates still need separate model/runtime clearance.
  • ZAYA1-VL red image probing and exact ACK obedience still need dedicated follow-up.
  • Full VLM/video/audio proof remains open for families that genuinely declare video/audio support.
