  • Add a CMake build for current C toolchains, GLib 2, and zlib.

  • Replace GLib 1-only memory-chunk and queue compatibility code with
    supported GLib 2 APIs.

  • Modernize legacy declarations, GLib calls, and generated serialization
    code, and enforce warning-free builds with GCC and Clang.

  • Make the EDSIO serializer generator reproducible with current Emacs and
    remove its deprecated Emacs Lisp dependencies.
