Vocabulary and Terminology

Here's a rundown of terminology that I'll use throughout this project, both in code and in documentation.

When possible. I should give each their own wiki page.

• Animation Desk Mode (ADM)
• Frame
• MultiDimensional Smear (MDS)
• Smear
• Simple Superman Smear (SSS) -
• Time-Slice
• X-Sheet - This is a spreadsheet detailing what each property should be doing and how to interpolate between them. When loaded into the VOP. It will generate the frame by frame entries for you. You theoretically COULD fill all the fields with all the frames rows. But I probably wouldn't, if I did the interpolator correctly. If the name reminds you of what is used in normal animation. It's because that is what it's designed like.
  • subX-Sheet - This is X-Sheet that in a MultiDimensional Smear (MDS) describes what the image should be doing during a frame. Not used with SSS runs.
• VOP - Video Optical Printer. The whole system. It is a mad hybrid of an Animation Stand, An Optical Printer, A Scanimate, and ILM's Volume tech.
