akróasys v3.1.0-beta.1

Pre-release

@github-actions github-actions released this 30 Sep 00:35

This is T5ynth under its own name. akróasys (ASCII: akroasys) is the Greek akróasis, listening — the act of hearing something out; the ending is spelled -sys for the synth. "T5" named the text encoder of one engine, and that stopped being the centre: Stable Audio 3 brings its own, and the new Language-Resonant Oscillator has none at all — there a language model writes a Csound instrument, and your words become the oscillator itself. T5ynth 2.5.3 remains the last version under the old name and without that oscillator; installing akróasys does not remove it, the two can sit side by side. Presets and models carry over — they still live in the T5ynth folders. In a DAW, akróasys registers as a new plugin: projects saved with T5ynth keep loading T5ynth.

akroasys runs on macOS, Windows and Linux. macOS and Windows ship with installers (Standalone + VST3 plugin; macOS also Audio Unit and CLAP). Linux is available via source build.

Installation

macOS

  1. Download akroasys-macOS-Installer.pkg
  2. Double-click the .pkg. The installer itself is functional; on current macOS versions you may first get the usual Gatekeeper warning because this build is not Apple-signed/notarized.
  3. If macOS blocks the installer, open System Settings > Privacy & Security, scroll to the security message for akroasys, and click Open Anyway.
  4. Enter your admin password when prompted, then confirm once more if macOS asks again.
  5. The installer places akroasys.app in /Applications/ and creates the preset/model folders under /Library/Application Support/T5ynth/.
  6. Launch akroasys.app from /Applications/

Note: On some macOS versions, right-clicking the .pkg and choosing Open also works. If the installer later blocks the app on first launch, use the same Privacy & Security > Open Anyway flow once for akroasys.app.

The macOS installer ships Standalone, VST3, Audio Unit (AU) and CLAP in a single .pkg. The plugin choices are pre-selected in the installer; deselect them at install time if you only want the Standalone.

Platform Scope

This beta release ships public installers for macOS (Standalone + VST3 + AU + CLAP) and Windows (Standalone + VST3).

Linux is best-effort: build from source via docs/DEV_BUILD.md or docs/LINUX_INSTALLATION.md. The CI produces Linux Standalone / VST3 archives plus an Ubuntu .deb on every push — they are downloadable from the Actions tab as workflow artifacts but are intentionally not attached to release pages and are not officially supported.

Windows

  1. Download akroasys-Windows-Setup.exe and every akroasys-Windows-Setup-*.bin file.
  2. Put all Windows setup files in the same folder.
  3. Run akroasys-Windows-Setup.exe and follow the setup prompts.
  4. Launch akroasys from the installed Start Menu shortcut or installation folder.

Linux

No installer is published. See Platform Scope above.

In this release

This is a fix release.

  • Held notes follow the A/B-drift regenerate again. While a note is held and Drift regenerates a new sample, the held voice switches to the current sample — as the instrument's flow concept always intended. This had regressed to leaving the held voice on the old sample. The sampler now equal-power crossfades A→B over the Regen XFade (Drift Crossfade) time, matching the Wavetable and Freeze engines — not a hard swap, and not a fixed declicker that ignored the control.
  • Race-safe releaseResources teardown against the sampler-reprepare worker.
  • In-app Guide: correction + documentation pass (aftertouch, envelopes, drift, filter oversampling, settings, presets).
