v1.0.4 — no Pages-only seat data

Choose a tag to compare

@johnlockefoundation johnlockefoundation released this 05 Oct 21:35

Removes holder_party and holder_name from the plugin's reference layer.

Both are read by one component: the General Assembly hemicycle on /seats.html, which is a Pages route and not part of this plugin. Nothing in the shipped bundle references either name. The two exports share the payload builders, so a field added for a Pages-only view was reaching every WordPress install.

The package now fails if either key reaches the zip, which is what makes the strip in export-reference.mjs trustworthy.

1.0.3 has the drawn arrow. This adds the strip on top; install this one.

v1.0.3 — drawn arrows, seat holders

Two shared-code fixes.

  • The move arrow is an SVG path mirrored for the Republican direction. The two Unicode codepoints resolved to different font fallbacks, so one direction rendered visibly thinner than the other.
  • The reference layer carries holder_party and holder_name per General Assembly seat, from the NCGA roster. candidates.incumbent could not express the 18 seats whose occupant is not on the ballot. U is carried through for the two seats held by unaffiliated members. Five incumbent flags corrected for appointed successors who are candidates.

Also in this build: the true 7-day Kalshi window, no market delta baked into the Pages map export, registrations removed, ballots links to the tracker, and the bundled Civitas index no longer blanked by a live read.

v1.0.2 — bundled Civitas index survives the live overlay

Fixes two overlay bugs, both the same shape: a live read returning nothing (an empty object, or a plain false) was overwriting good bundled data because it is not null.

  • an empty live block no longer replaces a populated bundled one, which restores the Civitas index on all 170 General Assembly seats
  • competitive / competitive_reason / competitive_source are now reference-only; Supabase holds a designation for no seat, so competitive:false was silently clearing the bundled flag everywhere

Also in this build: the 7-day Kalshi window (was measuring 13-15 days), no market delta baked into the Pages map export, registrations removed, ballots links out to the tracker.

v1.0.1 — live map arrows

@johnlockefoundation johnlockefoundation released this 05 Oct 00:31

Map arrows now read live from Supabase. The overlay read was passed un-awaited into the map overlay, so the map silently fell back to bundled data: arrows disagreed with the panel on two of four seats and were absent on NC-09, and the plugin showed none at all. Also: a true 7-day window (was 13-15 days), no market delta baked into the Pages map export, registrations removed, ballots links to the tracker.

Carolina Election Map 1.0.0

First buildable release. Embed with [jce_map] or the Carolina Election Map block.

Live figures (polls, market prices, fundraising, news) are read from Supabase at page load; the zip carries only invariant data.

Built from nc26 and verified against the extracted zip by tools/build.sh.
