005 DCC‐EX MersAG Layout Build

Introduction

Following our recent Zoom meeting, we will begin constructing an OO scale demonstration layout. This project will showcase what can be achieved cost-effectively and provide an excellent learning opportunity for members new to using Arduinos in model railway layouts. The layout will be built on two separate 6 foot by 2 foot boards, which will be bolted together to give a 12 foot by 2 foot arrangement. This allows for quick running, and storage when not in use at events.

Initial plans are in an early stage of development and is primarily will be a DCC layout, although it maybe possible to add a DC separate line at some point. Layout traction will be supplied from the DCC-EX command station.
