Scan Garden

Scanning a garden will take some time, depending on the size of your garden and camera quality.

Please ensure you set aside at least a few hours for the scan, and do not run any other sequences on your Farmbot during this time, as it may interrupt the scan.

This application cannot be closed while the scan is in progress, or you will have to restart the process.
If it is closed before scanning completes, the sequence will continue running on your FarmBot. In this situation, you may attempt to stop it by turning the FarmBot off and/or performing a reset.

You can view the scan's progress by simply checking the official FarmBot web app, or watching your actual FarmBot in person!

Scan Settings

The scan farm size is set to your farm's maximum size to default, but can be changed if you wish to scan a smaller section of your garden.
Both values must be at least 100mm.

Z axis is how far/close the FarmBot's camera is to the ground when scanning.
This can be adjusted to suit your camera.
The default value is 0, as this is the recommended value for the stock FarmBot camera.

All three values can have their defaults adjusted per user account in settings.

Scan Conditions

If the FarmBot is scheduled to scan the garden, please ensure that the garden is in a relatively stable environment.

This includes:

  • Rain, fog, dust, etc. - have a cover over the garden to prevent anything from making the camera blurry and/or wipe the camera before a scan to ensure clarity.
  • Ensure the scanning process happens during the night, so that the light from the LEDs is constant, without interference from sun rays that can cause high contrast spots in images.
