PortfolioWatch v1.0 - Initial Release

We (Gemini, Cline, and moi) are excited to announce the first official release of PortfolioWatch, a sleek, unobtrusive desktop widget for tracking your stock portfolio in real-time.

🚀 Key Features

  • Always-On-Top Widget: A minimal "pyramid" icon sits on your desktop. Hover to peek at your portfolio, click to pin it open.
  • Real-Time Tracking: Live quotes and charts powered by Yahoo Finance.
  • Portfolio Mode: Track your total equity, daily gain/loss, and visualize your asset allocation with a dynamic pie chart.
  • Import from screenshot(s): Supports importing positions from screenshots using AI.
  • CUSIP handling: Automates tracking private CUSIPs (common in 401k accounts) through public tracking funds.
  • Tab support: Easily separate multiple accounts and watchlists with tabs. Selectively include each tab in totals.
  • Tax allocation tracking: Allows tracking of basic tax allocation types per account, and across multiple accounts.
  • Rich Visuals: Beautiful sparklines for 1-day to 10-year price history, color-coded for quick trend analysis.
  • Earnings Intel: Automatic indicators for upcoming earnings calls, "Beat/Miss" history, options pressure, insider trading, and news.
  • Exportable: Export and import from file, or export a normalized portfolio to share a strategy without sharing financial details.
  • Customizable:
    • Themes: Light, Dark, and System Sync.
    • Opacity: Adjustable transparency to blend into your workflow.
    • Sticky Positioning: The main window snaps intelligently to the widget.
  • Auto-Updates: Built-in update engine ensures you're always running the latest version.

📦 Installation

  1. The app requires the .NET 9 Runtime for Windows. Install it first if necessary.
  2. Download PortfolioWatch.exe from the Assets below.
  3. Run the executable (no installer required).
  4. Right-click the tray icon or the desktop widget to access Settings.
  5. Hover over the widget to view. Click to pin open.

Enjoy tracking the markets without the clutter!
