Dazzler 0.28.1 — Recipe Starting Points and Expressive Color

Choose a tag to compare

@jongos jongos released this 07 Oct 14:46

Dazzler 0.28.1 adds contextual design starting points and restores color range across the demonstration collection.

  • 1,000 versioned recipes across editorial, commerce, culture, information and software. Agents retrieve a small, varied shortlist and load full details only when needed.
  • Explicit brand requirements and current design rules remain in control. Recipes are adaptable suggestions; source votes are text-only heuristics, not proof of aesthetic quality.
  • All 30 Word, HTML and UI examples rebuilt and reviewed, with refreshed desktop/mobile captures, editable theme tokens and a collection-color advisory.
  • Offline recipe lookup, provenance records, fallback behavior and cross-context tests included in the platform packages. No Jev account or hosted inference is required.

Validation: 101 Node tests; 79 Python tests with one optional skip; ten Word pages and 40 gallery browser views reviewed; five recipe adaptations checked at desktop/mobile sizes; release gallery, font, integrity and package gates passed. All ten archives fit the 24 MB unpacked gate. Word previews use LibreOffice; Microsoft Word rendering was not independently verified. Automated checks do not establish complete accessibility or aesthetic quality.

Download the package for your host, plus install_skill.py and SHA256SUMS.txt, or use the repository installation instructions. The Windows x64 offline kit and matching manifest preserve build inputs for maintenance. Prior releases remain available for rollback.

Notes: Recipe data is adapted from Jon Gosier's Style Science under Apache-2.0. Bundled fonts and libraries retain their individual licenses and notices. The dataset is pinned by source-file hashes; only retained recipes are included.

This patch also restores the original scheduler dependency pin after clean CI caught a version-bump error. The unsuccessful 0.28.0 release was not published.

Release CI: all six jobs passed, including Windows/Linux on Node 20/22, browser checks and cross-platform reproducibility. All four CI checksum inventories match the uploaded archives. All 16 uploaded asset digests were verified.

Dazzler 0.27.0 — Design-Led Gallery and Art Direction

Choose a tag to compare

@jongos jongos released this 07 Oct 08:15

Dazzler 0.27.0 makes art direction part of the default design workflow and replaces the full example collection.

  • 30 newly authored examples: 10 editable Word documents, 10 HTML documents and 10 working interfaces, with complete desktop/mobile previews.
  • Content-led document and web composition, bounded palette exploration, native Word page colors, chart annotations and reader-task regression scenarios.
  • Updated field guide and gallery, fresh visual-review evidence, and portable release provenance checks.
  • Ten validated platform/template packages and a Windows x64 offline build kit.

Validation: 99 Node tests; 70 Python tests (one optional skip); all ten extracted package checks; field-guide, gallery and design-system browser checks; all 30 gallery evidence entries. The offline archive and all 8,045 entries passed hash verification.

Word previews were rendered with LibreOffice; pagination can differ in Word. Automated accessibility checks and recorded visual review are not universal accessibility or aesthetic guarantees. Jev scenario findings informed local rules; no hosted classifier is required and no image-judgment claim is made.

Developer changes and rationale are recorded in CHANGELOG.md. Bundled resources retain their licenses and attribution notices.

Dazzler 0.26.0 — Rebuilt Working Collection

Choose a tag to compare

@jongos jongos released this 06 Oct 22:34

Rebuilt the full 30-template collection with current Dazzler typography, color, editorial emphasis and heading rules. Updated the field guide and all host packages.

Fixed interactive heading casing, mobile navigation wrapping, school-year consistency, clipped chart labels and seating-map snapshot capture. Word exports were reviewed across 20 pages; browser examples were checked at desktop and mobile widths.

Validation: 79 Node tests; 64 Python tests plus one platform-specific skip; ten validated archives; 703-file runtime health; verified offline-kit restore. Host packages remain below 24 MB compressed and unpacked.

See CHANGELOG.md for developer notes.

Dazzler 0.23.1 — Dependency and input-boundary repair

Choose a tag to compare

@jongos jongos released this 29 Sep 04:33

Dazzler 0.23.1 removes the complete Gap Sans dependency after an external audit flagged its attribution domain. The remaining full catalog bundles 23 families; compact packages retain their six-family selection. Existing copyright notices were not edited to hide the domain, and earlier releases remain unchanged.

CSS evidence import now omits resource URLs, executable expressions, markup, controls and escaped declarations, with an omission count. Local font, color and export helpers remain available. See maintenance/SECURITY-040.md for actual boundaries and limitations.

Validation: 76 Node tests; 56 Python tests with one Windows symlink case skipped; all 121 retained font binaries match metadata and load in Chromium; 695-file health check; all ten archives pass extracted-helper, integrity, installer and 24 MB budget checks. The refreshed offline kit restores and rebuilds all three engines with network calls blocked.

The public skills.sh audit has not yet been cleared. The previous verdict is retained in documentation until provider reassessment. No malware or exploitation claim is made about the original font binaries.

Dazzler 0.23.0 — A new field guide and portable editions

Choose a tag to compare

@jongos jongos released this 29 Sep 04:02

Dazzler’s field guide is rebuilt with editorial typography, a local prompt builder, a searchable 30-example gallery, clearer installation and deliberate print layouts.

Added: portable/Claude/Cursor manifests, a native Gemini extension, a Grok Bot edition, square brand assets, and SwiftUI, Compose and Flutter token exports. The existing design principles now have a consolidated evidence and enforcement map.

Validated: 76 Node tests, 54 Python tests (one Windows symlink case skipped), browser/accessibility/reflow checks, six inspected print pages, all gallery destinations, official manifest validation and isolated Gemini installation under Node 22. All ten ZIPs remain below 24 MB compressed and unpacked. Native files are proposals; no native compilation is claimed.

Still open: hosted Claude upload acceptance, policy-blocked Codex trigger measurements, skills.sh indexing, and controlled model comparisons. A fresh public source install passed health checks, but the third-party skills CLI reported removal while leaving the skill discoverable; this remains tracked in issue 20. The 30-second GIF is a guided walkthrough, not a timed generation run.

The Windows x64 offline build kit is a maintainer recovery archive, not an installable skill. Fonts and third-party libraries retain their licenses; see the repository notices.

Dazzler 0.22.0 — Smaller, safer, easier to install

Choose a tag to compare

@jongos jongos released this 29 Sep 03:14

Dazzler is easier to install, smaller to download and clearer to use.

  • Host packages are about 11.3 MB zipped / 19.6 MB unpacked, down from 30.8 MB / 51.1 MB. All stay within 24 MB compressed and unpacked gates.
  • Six versatile font families, all 30 templates and complete rendering tools ship by default. The full 24-family collection remains in the source checkout. The old compact Claude filename is an identical alias.
  • The installer verifies resources without executing archive scripts. It checks every archive path before extraction, bounds metadata reads and retains local-edit protection and rollback.
  • Inventory traversal took 0.49 seconds versus 1.77 seconds on the same 547 files. Dense heading protection produced identical output in 22 ms versus 9,731 ms. These local fixture measurements are not general end-to-end speed claims.
  • The README leads with benefits and installation. Platform guides and skill instructions are shorter, with original credits and licenses retained.

Validation includes 72 Node tests, 52 Python cases (the symlink case needs Windows privileges and runs on Linux), every package's install/update/rollback/removal flow, archive and resource hashes, the browser gallery and a clean offline rebuild. The dependency audit reported no known advisories. Cross-platform CI and matching artifact hashes gate publication.

Host activation and actual cloud uploads remain unverified. The 24 MB limit is a release budget, not a guarantee of every host's acceptance. The offline maintenance kit is separate from skill uploads.

Notes: Developer changes, installation guide, field manual. Created by Jon Gosier; feedback: jon@filmhedge.com. Apache-2.0 for original code; bundled resources keep their licenses.

Dazzler 0.21.0 - Phase 6

Choose a tag to compare

@jongos jongos released this 29 Sep 02:49

Phase 6 reconciles the remaining issues with the delivered releases and adds a cohesive, automatic design policy.

  • Context-sensitive expressive/reserved tone, protected English Title Case, 60ch prose measure and responsive grid tokens. Existing records and explicit brand/user settings win.
  • Project-local licensed-font import, coverage checks and packaging gates against private or unreviewed fonts.
  • Measured danger foregrounds, optional AAA text targets and bounded browser review candidates.
  • Correct Claude plugin starter namespace and clearer installer recovery, with ignored project backups.
  • Twelve design principles, six review briefs, rebuilt templates, fresh Word/browser snapshots, an updated field manual and developer issue reconciliation.

Validation: 72 Node and 49 Python tests passed locally, along with responsive template interactions, 20 native Word pages, all four illustration adapters, saved-system continuation and package extraction checks. The Windows kit restored and rebuilt with Node network APIs blocked; all tests and its 700-file integrity check passed. Cross-platform CI and matching artifact hashes gate publication.

The compact Claude edition is 19.6 MB unpacked. Live upload acceptance, host triggering, Grok access, live Figma and native-app support remain explicitly unverified. Design review candidates are not accessibility certification. Local-font support covers TTF/OTF/WOFF metadata; WOFF2/TTC and advanced shaping need separate verification.

Notes and developer evidence: Phase 6 reconciliation and before/after examples, change notes, field manual. Original credits and licenses remain in their closing notices. Feedback: jon@filmhedge.com.

Dazzler 0.20.0 — From reference to reality

Choose a tag to compare

@jongos jongos released this 29 Sep 01:55

Phase 5 adds optional design handoffs and evidence-qualified product guidance.

  • Read-only Figma evidence mapping for available authorized connectors, with modes, aliases, existing components and brand conflicts kept explicit.
  • Opt-in visual-comp workflow that continues into real implementation, side-by-side captures and interaction checks.
  • A new responsive handoff field guide, updated starter variants and platform guidance, and a dated capability comparison with documented / verified here / not assessed labels.
  • No new runtime dependency. Native app exports and dedicated Grok Bot support remain unpromoted without real compatibility trials.

Validation: 69 Node and 45 Python tests; local CSS conflict/no-lock checks, raster-wrapper comparison, source preservation, keyboard form checks, responsive guide checks and a reviewed two-page print layout. All eight archives passed extracted-helper, context-budget and resource checks. The 7,975-file Windows x64 kit rebuilt all engines with network APIs blocked and passed the 694-file runtime inventory.

Live Figma compatibility, image generation, Grok Bot discovery, native exports and comparative design quality are not verified here. Remote connector/site work can use the network.

Dazzler 0.19.0 — Composition and controlled refinement

Choose a tag to compare

@jongos jongos released this 29 Sep 01:42

Phase 4 adds purpose-based composition and controlled refinement.

  • Eight responsive layout archetypes with content contracts, reading order and density guidance.
  • Five measured composition review rules with contextual exceptions, separate from accessibility failures.
  • Eight refinement intents: bolder, quieter, typeset, colorize, polish, harden, critique and distill. Optional variance/density/motion controls persist in project records; omitted controls retain existing schema defaults.
  • Updated field manual, composition guide, all platform packages and Windows x64 offline build kit. Host-specific instructions load on demand within enforced context budgets.

Validation: 69 Node and 45 Python tests, independent rendered fixtures, narrow/wide and reduced-motion checks, preserved-content behavioral evaluations, extracted-package checks and an offline rebuild with network APIs blocked. The validation report documents false positives and limits; composition candidates are not an aesthetic score or AI-authorship detector. Live host triggering and Claude upload acceptance remain unverified.

Dazzler 0.18.0 — Persistent systems and fluid typography

Choose a tag to compare

@jongos jongos released this 28 Sep 22:31

Dazzler 0.18.0

Phase 3 adds persistent design records, fluid typography and compatible component themes.

  • Continue saved fonts, colors and constraints from existing project records.
  • Import/export a bounded DESIGN.md subset and resume canonical systems with consistency checks.
  • Generate responsive type, leading, tracking and supported weights, with static print fallbacks and Tailwind/DTCG mappings.
  • Propose paired light/dark shadcn themes without installing or replacing components.
  • Updated field manual, public typography specimen and all platform helper packages.

Validation: 59 Node and 45 Python tests, browser reflow/200% text/print checks, compiled component fixture, native Word print review, legacy-output comparison, eight validated ZIPs and a network-disabled Windows offline rebuild.

Live implicit AI-host triggering, Claude upload acceptance and Grok Bot remain unverified. DESIGN.md parsing is a bounded subset; DTCG exchanges static sizes with a fluid extension. See the validation report for limits.
