Release v0.7.0

Highlights:

  • One backend for Work. Scheduled Tasks, Jobs and Local automations now live in one work_definitions table, Job runs are rows in tasks, and /api/work lists, creates, saves and deletes every kind (create and save write the trigger in the same transaction). Every legacy endpoint keeps its response shape, so older iOS / Android apps and CLIs keep working.
  • Environment per piece of work. The New work form's Where section can switch the repo's connections, MCP servers and skills on or off, pick pod secrets, run setup commands, and make PR follow-through more careful than the repo's. Jobs and persistent agents now get connections, MCP servers and skills too. Jobs can run a plain shell command, and persistent agents can work in a repo.
  • Work until merged. A new Then answer: the agent opens a PR, and Optio brings it back for failing CI, conflicts and review feedback, then merges it once it's green. A task can now track several PRs, adopted only from its agent's own PR-creating calls.
  • Model providers. Run Claude Code and Codex on Amazon Bedrock, on your machines (an AWS profile) or in pods (encrypted keys or the pod's IAM role), chosen per piece of work with a Provider switch.
  • Ownership and access. Providers, secrets, connections and work belong to the organization or to one person ("Just me"). Pod work picks the secrets it gets. Workspaces can auto-join people by verified email domain.
  • Agent settings everywhere:
    • Claude Code's effort picker lists every level the model supports, read from Anthropic's Models API, and Max now reaches pod runs.
    • The Extended thinking toggle is gone.
    • New work remembers your agent settings.
    • Repo settings use the same live agent picker, on web, iOS and Android.
  • Quality of life:
    • Logos for services and agents.
    • A Machines sessions list that doesn't jump around.
    • Text size and column width controls in Chat, and replying from Chat in the web app.
    • A refresh button on the Codex usage pill.

Upgrade notes:

  • Back up your database first. Eight new migrations run when the API starts, including five that move scheduled Tasks, Jobs and Local automations into work_definitions and Job runs into tasks. They're tested on populated databases, but the data move can't be undone in place.
  • Helm: the web UI now runs as a second container in the optio-api pod. web.replicas, web.autoscaling, web.pdb, web.antiAffinity and web.nodeSelector are removed; the optio-web Service remains. Restart deployment/optio-api to restart both.
  • Helm: the operations assistant is off by default (optio.enabled: false). Set it to true to keep it.
  • Organization work no longer sees anyone's personal secrets. Set work that relies on your personal secrets (agent sign-in included) to Just me.
  • Restart optio local up on each machine to get model providers and Codex usage refresh. An older daemon refuses runs that use a provider.

Install:

helm install optio oci://ghcr.io/jonwiggins/optio --version 0.7.0 -n optio --create-namespace \
  --set encryption.key=$(openssl rand -hex 32)
