AerioTV for iOS, iPadOS, & tvOS v1.8.0
AerioTV 1.8.0 (iPhone, iPad, Apple TV)
Control your TV from your phone
Open AerioTV on your iPhone and tap the TV button to use your phone as a remote for your Apple TV or Google TV Streamer on the same network.
- Browse and change channels from the phone, with the guide right there
- Transport controls: play/pause, and pause/rewind live TV (with Live Rewind)
- Switch Stream: swap the channel's source server without leaving the couch
- Record the current program straight from the remote
- Sleep Timer (Off / 30m / 1h / 1.5h / 2h) - pauses the TV when it fires
- Audio Only - drops the video so the screen goes dark while sound keeps playing
- Full audio track, subtitle, playback speed, and aspect ratio controls
- Long-press the "Controlling" pill to disconnect
Pairing is a one-time 6-digit code shown on the TV; after that your phone reconnects automatically.
AirPlay
- iPhone: send live video to an AirPlay destination from the player.
Under the hood
- Playback now auto-selects the best engine (AVPlayer where supported, mpv as fallback).
- More resilient device discovery on the local network (self-healing mDNS browse, ghost-entry cleanup).
- Fixed a rare crash when opening a server's details while iCloud sync was merging changes.
- Over-the-air channels whose audio track fails to open now fall back gracefully instead of dropping the stream.
Note: turning on debug logging (Settings) now captures companion-remote activity, so if you hit an issue you can send us a log that pinpoints it.
