2 little request for user / guest handling

may be I haven't found the right way (functions) but as far as I see

1. Joomla updates the 'lastvisitDate' column for a user just when a users logs in and the session starts,
so there is no possibility to see and react on the date when a user had visited last time

so I added myself a new column 'priorvisitDate' and added this line in the core of table/user.php
->set($db->quoteName('priorvisitDate') . '=' .$db->quoteName('lastvisitDate'))

just right before
->set($db->quoteName('lastvisitDate') . ' = :lastvisitDate') so the lastvistDate is saved before it is overwritten

may be it is possible (and other people find it useful) to add something like this to some next updates.

2. sometimes it is nice to find out how many guests visits your site, but the casual guests are a mix-up between
human guests and robots.
Jommla has the integrated function to find out robots (app->client->robot), so why not counting them?

 with this addition in the session/MetadataManager.php  (function createSessionRecord  **and**  updateSessionRecord)
- right **before**  the part   // **Bind query values**

if ($user->guest && $this->app->client->robot)
$user->guest ++;

 a **robot** will be stored with value '**2**'  and a **guest** like before with value '**1**'  (user=0)

so we can simply identify by data->guest value  if we have a user or not (>0) or a human (==1) or robot (==2)

The Joomla Maintainer Team decided at the 22.04.2026 meeting to accept part 1 as new feature.
For part 2 there are third-party extentions or external services which can do analytics.
