JT Position Finder v1.0.4 — Improved Template Search UX
This release improves the template search experience and makes the module position selection workflow clearer when multiple Joomla templates or template styles contain similar names.
The update is based on real-world feedback about searching for Cassiopeia when another template group such as Cassiopeia Extended is also available.
What’s New
- Improved search ranking for template groups
- Exact template element matches are now prioritized before partial matches
- Searching for
Cassiopeiashould show the Cassiopeia group before Cassiopeia Extended - Added visible template element badges, such as
cassiopeiaorcassiopeia_extended - Changed the
Selectedlabel toCurrent value - Improved wording to clarify that Joomla stores the module position value, not the template group
- Updated search placeholder text
- Updated modal description text
- Updated English and Turkish language strings
- Updated package metadata to version
1.0.4 - Updated Joomla update server metadata
Why This Change?
JT Position Finder selects the value stored in Joomla’s module position field.
Joomla stores the module position name, for example banner, footer, menu or sidebar-right.
It does not store the template group from which the position was selected.
When two templates contain the same position name, the same value can appear under more than one template group. The new Current value label makes this clearer and avoids the impression that a specific template group has been selected.
Compatibility
- Joomla 6.1+
- PHP 8.3+
- Joomla Administrator
