Calendar feeds: a note can now follow a calendar, and a day's events fill that day's card.

Added

  • Calendar feeds. ☰ → Calendar feed… takes a calendar's iCal (.ics) address — Google's secret address, Outlook, iCloud — with a Test button that fetches it and says what it found. Each note has its own feed. It's read-only: nothing is ever sent to the calendar.
  • Update a day from its card's new ↻ action-strip button, or right-click the card (or any line in it) → Update from calendar feed. The day's events land under a heading one level below the card — all-day events first, then by time (09:00–09:30 Stand-up).
  • Update today (☰, or a command) makes today's card first if the note doesn't have one.
  • Update all days (☰, or a command) does every dated card in one go. It fetches the feed first and says how many cards and events it will touch, and offers to make cards for the calendar's days the note doesn't have — this week, this month, this year, or all (to a year from today), each with its count, Don't make any the default. New cards get the note's heading format and card template, with their events already in.
  • Updates are safe to repeat. Only the feed's own lines change (each carries a hidden ^ical- block id); lines you write under the heading stay, a ticked feed task stays ticked, and a day with nothing new isn't written.
  • Repeating events follow their rules, skipped dates and one-off moves; multi-day and overnight events show on every day they cover; times are shown in your time zone.
  • Settings → Calendar feeds: the heading's name (default Calendar), whether it goes at the bottom or the top of the card, events as bullets or open tasks, and an opt-in to update today's card when the note opens.

Changed

  • The Calendar's range picker sits right beside the Layout picker in the toolbar.
  • Layouts → Calendar in the ☰ and right-click menus now opens a submenu of Month / 2 weeks / Week / Day; picking one from another layout switches to the Calendar in that range. Clicking Calendar itself, and Ctrl/⌘-clicking it to hide it, still work.
  • The "Cards button on notes" setting is now called "Open regular note as card button".

Docs

  • The README gains a Calendar feeds section with a screenshot, and discloses the plugin's two network uses: a background image downloaded from a URL, and a note's calendar feed. The introduction and feature list are shorter.

Internal

  • Feeds are read with ical.js (MPL-2.0, bundled unmodified). src/icalfeed.ts parses a feed once and walks each repeating series once across the whole date span, so updating a year of days costs about what one does; parsing, formatting and merging are unit-tested against a Google-style fixture feed.
