v1.2.3
Changes
- Buildroot: Remove boot-partition EEPROM provisioning (
pieeprom.upd+recovery.binbaked into image). This approach causes a red screen loop on any Pi 5 whose EEPROM firmware is the same version or newer than Buildroot's blob — which includes any unit previously booted with Trixie (auto-updates EEPROM). - Documentation: Added "EEPROM Provisioning (Pi 5)" section to README with the correct
rpi-eeprom-update -d -fcommand sequence for settingBOOT_ORDER=0xf1on factory-fresh units.
EEPROM Provisioning
To provision a factory-fresh Pi 5 (sets BOOT_ORDER=0xf1, SD-only boot):
printf '[all]\nBOOT_UART=1\nBOOT_ORDER=0xf1\n' > /tmp/eeprom.cfg
BLOB=$(ls /usr/lib/firmware/raspberrypi/bootloader-2712/default/pieeprom-*.bin | sort | tail -1)
rpi-eeprom-config --config /tmp/eeprom.cfg --out /tmp/custom.bin "$BLOB" && rpi-eeprom-update -d -f /tmp/custom.bin && rebootNote: Buildroot SD card image (piclockBR-65af133-sdcard.img) is available separately — too large for GitHub release assets.
